Wearable Art

This CNY, I collaborated with innovative cheongsam designer, The Girl’s Kaksh and Chinatown Heritage Centre to present three unique wearable art pieces of painted cheongsams for public showcase at CHC's museum shop. The cheongsams are designed by Ms Audrey See of The Girl's Kaksh and each piece is hand painted in gold and studded with crystals by yours truly. We wish to usher in the Year of the Rat with a good cause and that is to raise funds for charity and share the joy of the Lunar New Year Festival with the community. More details will be uploaded soon.

Here are the 3 pieces that I painted and they are already up on display at CHC.

花中有福 Prosperity in Blooms Painted within the artwork are the words福 hidden among the blooms painted in this cheongsam.

金鱼满塘 Pond full of Gold Fishes A pair of gold fishes painted with lotus and leaves to mark the auspicious GOLD, element, the most sought after metal for every Chinese New Year.

彩蝶飞舞 Dance of the Butterflies Butterflies galore to signify that Spring has arrived. Gold painted butterflies has a latent meaning of ‘prosperity’ and ‘wealth’.
