Durian Fruit Flowers

Completed my painting today. This is it. Showed the photographer and passed! Ok, here are some facts about durians. Durian trees typically take about 4 to 5 years before they start flowering and when that happens, it is usually once a year. Sometimes there is a minor season. The flowers are in clusters and only about 20% will be successfully pollinated. The fruits hang on the tree and will mature after 3 months. What is so interesting about this lot of durian flowers is that the owners have stayed in the house for 18 years and the tree only started flowering last year! Can you believe it? The tree really took its time. Many thanks to Mr Rich Seow for his photo.
