A Threescore Project : Charity Commissions

When I paint in oil, I rest my canvas for a minimum of 3 months. There are times when I employ the palette knife method where lots of paint is required, 4 to 6 months ‘drying’ time is needed.

These 2 pieces are oil paintings, so they will sit in my living room until June and then Ying takes over.

I have been told that they look different from my other works and have also been asked if I am starting a “flowers in pots” series. Am glad the change is noticeable. The “flowers in pots” is a theme for our charity commissions this year. BLESSINGS and JOY in the works so far, raising a combined sum of S$11 000 for Assisi Hospice.

It is our milestone Threescore Year, Ying and I want this year to be meaningful. We have capacity to work on another 2 but delivery will be second half of the year, likely end of the year as we are both working full time as art practitioners. Simple mechanics, you donate (not exclusive to Assisi), I paint and Ying will do her silversmithing. Only one condition … it’s got to be $5000 minimum donation. Message me if you are keen, I will furnish you with more details.
